Diary Entry for 4/10/1999

Sunny cold north wind. I washed Merrill’s bed linens. Jim and Nancy here in PM. He brought Jobt hose for Merrill and I. There is a safety pin contest at city to recognize the 150 year patent of the safety pin by Walter Hunt born in Lewis County. He could be related as Merrill’s mother was a daughter of Lewis and Beulah Hunt Harlow of Lewis County. I called Vern and Jim about it. Soldier Joe Grey came back to fill up ruts, a nice young man. He worked most of PM fixing and raking etc. Is coming tomorrow and bringing his wife, Jennifer. It is their first wedding anniversary. Bob B took down his sap buckets.
