Diary Entry for 3/1/2004

Sunny. Very warm. Vi here for paper. I gave myself Procrit shot in evening. Dr. Sanni at 1:15. Cheryl took me. My eye pressure 13 in both eyes. Centennial meeting at 7:30. Angie brought me a piece of cake for supper. I went to Centennial meeting.

50°. Raining windy. I went to exercise class. Good turnout. VIP meeting here at 2 PM. Nice meeting and lots of plans made. 7 of us present. David L only man. He’s been asked to speak at a meeting in California in May for a blind organization.

Partly cloudy. Robert C called about 7:30 and said they would like to come up to see me today. They got here about 10:30 AM. Cheryl not feeling too good. She has had a gall bladder operation this winter. Robert got subs for dinner. I had brownies and peaches for dessert. An enjoyable day together. Jolie called. Jim spent the night with her and then left for Florida at Daytona Beach. She called in evening to say he got there in PM. He left his truck at Jolie’s and rode his bike to Florida. I played Pedro in evening. Jim staying with Billy, a buddy from their Air force days.

40° and 36°. Partly cloudy. No exercise class. Muriel busy with her son. Vi here twice. Brought me piece of cake. Dr. Willis office called to remind me of 2 PM appointment. Cheryl called. I took trash to basement. I called June in evening. Vern at choir practice.

Raining and windy all day. Jessie here to clean. We went to Big M and Kinney’s. I had to have blood work at hospital before I saw Mart at Dr. Willis. He upped m Lasik. Vi went with me. Cheryl took us over. We walked home. Florence game me macaroni and meat for supper. Angie here in evening. A terrible fire on lower Court Street starting at 8 PM. Several businesses lost, Max Outfitters, Severance Photos, Dr. Gueater, a music store, and a book store. Alger Shippee 80 is dead. Evelyn Barker’s husband. She died last March.

55 and 30°. Much warmer today. Cloudy. I didn’t go for donuts and coffee. Vi went to Syracuse with Sue and girls. They met Julie and girls there. Vi came for Times. Angie brought me a piece of corneal bread. Florence gave me a piece of lemon pie. Sue B called for prayer chain. Rev. Jane’s son, Jason and wife, Heather in Carthage NY lost their baby today. Still born.

Cloudy day. Jill here in PM. She has the cutest little dog named “Ellie”, 7 weeks old. She is so sweet. Chitzu. Vi came for times. There are lots in Times about Friday night’s fire on Court Street. Also a great article on Guilfoil ambulance Co. Jim called in evening from Florida (Port Richie). He has a sunburn. It is 80° there. He’s going to Jolie’s for a couple of days on the way home.

Ground white with snow this morning. Colder. Dr. Willis’ office called. I have to go for another blood test Wednesday. I made chili. Sheri Nash went back to hospital in the night. 2 AM. Sue called for Philadelphia prayer chain for infant Natalie who has pneumonia.

35° and 26°. More snow over night. Melted later. Hope and Lee apartment inspection today. Exercise class. 16 present. Sue called for prayer chain for Nancy Huntress. She is having heart bypass and valve replacement. Kidney removal later. Jolie called in evening. Jim at their place. Got there last night he will be home tomorrow late. Vi called. I called her about Nancy.

Nice day. Mostly sunny. I walked over to hospital lab to have blood work. Vi went with me. I washed clothes in AM. Angie here. Kelly called from Dr. Willis office. I’m not to take Divan tonight. 24 hours Lasik if I’m over 137 pounds. Mary hall and Sharon Farrell called.

Partly cloudy. Partly sunny. I went to exercise class. 14 there. First Presbyterian church here in evening to entertain. Very good. Not too many out. Jim called in evening. Sue B left message. Nancy H came through bypass operation all okay yesterday.

Very snowy and windy all day. Dentist appointment with Dr. Schipic at 10:30, cleaning. I called and cancelled because of the windy, snowy day. I go next Friday. I talked with Mary Hall and Lorraine. Jim called in evening to ask if I got to dentist. Sue B called for prayer for Jane C’s grandson Austin.

25° and 15°. Some snow flurries. Sunny most of day. Vi here. Juanita called twice. She is going to Karen and Bob’s at Denver Colorado next Friday. I ordered roast beef dinner from church. Very good. Elgin and Carmi called from Canada. Both are well.

35° and 33°. Cold windy day. Snow flurries. Cheryl took me to see Mark at Dr. Willis’s. I went to lab for blood work for Dr. LaPoint. Debby H called in evening. We talked for about five hours. She is having problems over a car she bough when she lived in Colorado. Upsetting new on CBS news tonight. They may let the Hubble Telescope expire for lack of funding. It tells us so much of our universe.

32° and 19°. Snowed 6 inches over night. Partly sunny. Syracuse got a foot of snow. Vi here. Florence brought me a piece of cake. I played Pedro in evening. Debby called from Dr. LaPoint’s office. Blood report okay. I need to continue same medication. A slight earthquake in the Massena area.

32° and 19°. A few snow flurries. Not much sun I went to exercise class. 19 there. Schuler’s Restaurant caters our St. Patrick’s supper at 5 PM. Delicious supper and good turn out. I received a call from Office of the Aging bring my record up to date. Dorothy Kellogg died today. I bought her magnifying machine. I called Jim.

A nice sunny day. Jessie here to clean. Vi was here for Times. Stopped in the evening also. Dentist appointment at 11:30. Had my teeth cleaned, X-rayed, and treated. $69. Jim called in evening on way to Joanne’s. Fred Hale 113 years is the oldest living person in the world. It is official. He lives at Baldwinsville, NY in a nursing home. 77° in Denver where Juanita is at Karen’s.

40° and 26°. Very windy. Cloudy and rain. I went for coffee and donuts. I washed clothes in PM. Vern called in evening. Steve has to take civil service test for his job. They celebrated Sarah’s ninth birthday today. I talked with Sherri N. she came home from hospital yesterday.

21° and 7°. Sunny but cold all day. Vi here. I renewed AARP paper. $12.50 a year. I also sent four dues to bank for VIP club. $20. Jolie called in evening. Her skin biopsy showed they got all the cancer on her back. I gave myself Procrit shot in evening.

Windy. Partly cloudy. I went to exercise. Muriel told us of trips she can get for us. Coby Slate called. He’s doing okay. Still using walker. Philadelphia UM Church getting ready to vote on building new church with Evans Mills.

Raining. Cloudy all day. I didn’t go to exercise class. Appointment with Sashi at 9:30. Vi walked over with me. I have to continue my medication as I have been. Jim called in evening. He was going to Joanne’s.

64° and 52°. Warm cloudy. Dr. Schipic 10:15 where I had a check up. They gave me free fluoride to treat sore tooth. I called Lane Bryant Company about garment sizes. I made dump it cake. I took some to Sherri and Jim downstairs.

Cloudy all day. Misty at times. Cheryl called and asked me to go to Dorothy Kellogg’s memorial. Very nice service at First Church. They put on a luncheon at noontime. Nice. Cheryl took me to Sherwood florists to get a rose bowl for Sherri. I took it to her. Girt Stanton here to pick up Coke cans for camp fund at church. Cheryl brought me a delicious beef supper. Everything tasted so good.

A just beautiful sunny day. I went to church with Girt Stanton. So good to get back to church. Communion there. Beautiful music as always. I tripped on sidewalk front of Centennial and fell hurting my right knee. Hurts bad to step on it. Jolie called a few times. I called Jim. He came about 4 PM. He did some chores for me.

64° and 32°. A great spring sunny day. I called for an appointment with Dr. Powell. They told me to come in at 1:30 PM. Jim came and took me. Dr. Powell took two vials of blood out of my knee. Also had X-rays taken. Vi was here. Lyla called in evening. She had call from Elgin and Carmi. 100 soldiers returned to Fort Drum today form Iraq. They have been gone almost a year.

60° and 40°. Another nice day. Cheryl did my laundry and helped me make my bed. Girt S called to see how I was. Sally H locked her keys in her car. I let her in and called the paper for her. Bill called twice. I called Vern and June. The average price of gasoline is $1.80 a gallon. I got pictures of Madison and Jim.

54° and 42°. Not a bad day. Sherri N called to ask how my knee was. Their daughter and family are coming today. She lives in California. Vi has been here a couple of times. I walked out to lobby today for two days mail. Also paid my rent. I didn’t go to play Pedro. I’ve kept ice on my knee most of the day. Juanita called in evening. She had nice visit with Karen and Bob.
