Real nice today. Merrill broke manure spreader. I had trouble all day with my machine. Only did 34 dozen. Got paint for living room.

Swell day. Real warm. We walked down to Morrison’s store this noon. Made $6.30 today. 42 dozen. Jim & I went up to grange. Not enough kids came for Juvenile grange.

Real warm. Home Bureau at Leah’s but I didn’t go. Too tired.

Cold today. Girls all paid me. Got letter from Vernon. He has room in Piez House for next year.

Grand day. Painted ceilings in living room & dining room. Got Mother’s day card from Vern. Jim went to city with Evelyn. Got me a gift of gloves.

Rained hard during night. Painted living room side walls. Mother’s Day.

Hand sewed today. Evelyn & Carl & girls were here in evening. Carl & Gloria Tryon came at 10:30 PM from Vermont on way to Wolcott.

Didn’t work today. I took car to Gouverneur garage. Came home on bus. Coco’s brought me home. Howard took Merrill after car at 5:30. Cost $27.00 Called about floor sander at Lingefelter’s. Wrote Mom.

I didn’t go to lodge. Colder today. Carolyn Seeley had accident with car last night.

Mother & Daughter banquet. I didn’t go. Carl & Gloria came about 3:30 & stayed overnight.

Friday the 13th. Nice day. I got flooring at Whites. Brought home sander. Got Fabulon for floor. $6.95 a gallon. Carl & Gloria left about 6:30 AM for Vermont.

Turned cows out for first days. We sanded living room floor & put fabulon on it. 2 coats. We went to Gouverneur in evening but stores were closed. Got letter from Mom.

Merrill sowed first oats. I washed clothes. Uncle Earle, Aunt Keitha, Ethel, & Audrey were here in PM. Jim ate dinner at Howard’s. Turned cows out for first nights.

I have horrid cold. I went to bed as soon as I got home from work. Merrill finished sowing oats. Cold. Got note from Carl & Gloria.

Frost last night. I got throw rugs at noon. Cold.

Frost again last night. Wrote Vernon. Cold & windy. Got 4 pillow cases today. Doris Webb died about 4:00 PM of heart attack. Age 44.

We went to Webb’s in evening. Ida Pollock & Kate Bruncher (Louse Rappole’s sister) died today.

Nice day. Edna, Ann, & I went to Chets for dinner. Girls all paid me.

We went to city. Sally LaBarge & Memory went with us. Got sheets, shades, & white shoes. Merrill bought pulverizers. Carl Allen stayed all night with Jim. Jim had 4-H meeting here in evening. Had work done on car. Shock absorbers & brake cable.

Planted garden. Very dry. No church. Conference. Dot came after Carl. Grand day. 80°

Still warm & muggy. Wrote to Vernon.

Talked with school nurse. Jim isn’t feeling good. Very warm. Nellie didn’t ride.

I didn’t go to lodge. Rainy. Very muggy. Merrill planted sweet corn. Jim didn’t go to school. Merrill finished plowing. Nellie didn’t ride.

Got letter from Vernon. He gets out of school June 7th. Jim went to school. Rusho’s bought pulverizer.

Grand day. Merrill set out tomato plants. We went to school circus in evening. Jim was a clown.

Merrill’s appointment with Dr. McAskill. He has to have reading glasses. $21.00. We went to city. Got Jim shoes. Thunder storm in evening. Washed clothes in PM.

Mom, Dad, Merrill, Jim, & I went to Oswego to see Vernon. Had picnic at Fort Ontario. Went through Fort. Buster & Marie have girl. Sherry Lou.

I didn’t have to work today. We went to Memorial service at Philadelphia. Jim was in parade. Rained as usual. Did ironing.

Cold & rainy. Sent calf to sale. Got $17.47. Finished skirt. Checkered one. Evelyn Hall’s birthday.

I didn’t go to grange. We went down town at noon. No crops in yet.

Dot Allen & Vi called. Still cold today.

Warmer today. I went to Chellis’ at noon & got Merrill’s glasses.

Jim went to Crystal with Dot Allen’s and then went home with Carl to spend the night. Waxed living room & dining room floors. Jim mowed yards.

Merrill & I went to church. Went over after Jim. Ate lunch out & drove down to Bill & Vi’s camp in PM. Swell day.

Real warm today. Ben Kiechle’s was down on Paul’s motorcycle in evening.

Vi & I went to Oswego after Vernon. Nice day. We drove to Theresa in evening but store was closed. Rained.

Merrill planted first corn. Vern went to city on bus. Bought power saw. $65.00.

Got letter from Eleanor wanting us to go to city park on Sunday for a picnic.

Little water pump went up. Bennett came out & took it to Novak’s to be welded.

We went to city. We bought new stainless steel sink. $67.00. Vern got Bible from Uncle Berle.

Rained. Men finished putting in sink. Went over to Evelyn’s in evening. Worked in garden. Vern mowed lawn.

Raining & cold. Went to Novak’s after water tank. They haven’t fixed it though. Merrill went to Philadelphia with Carleton.

Flag day. Went up to Dick Ennis’ in evening to see hay balers. Nice day.

Did huge washing. Got water at Evelyn’s. Didn’t go to grange. Merrill went over to Ashley’s to see baler.

Lois, Carroll, & girls were here in evening. Washed my hair. Sent card to Mom.

Edna & I had fish fry at lunch at S&B. Past Noble Grands went to Johnnies Inn. Grand diner. Jim went to 4-H at David Rude’s.

Ironed about all day. Very hot. Washed kitchen curtains.

Father’s day. Very hot. Ate lunch at Wayside Inn. Finished ironing.

Merrill got bale loader at Ennis’. Lynn went after it for him. $175.00. Paid for kitchen rug at Wards. Merrill went to lodge.
