Nice day. Boys went to Sunday School. We all went to church. Boy Scouts attended. We all went up to Aunt Cora’s. Aunt Edna is in nursing home. Talked with Aunt Keitha.

Very stormy. No school because of storm. Merrill went to lodge. Vern got plywood, masonite, & board for kitchen. Canceled Home Bureau sewing lessons.

Washed & ironed. Billy Mattingly came home with Jim to stay all night. Merrill & boys went to Mills after chicken feed. Sent calf to sale with Halls.

I went to Rebekah’s. Merrill went to Wards & Jim went to basketball game.

Started boudoir chair lessons at Fireman’s Hall in PM. Merrill & I & Jim went to adult education to register. Went to P.T.A. We all went to Boy Scout Court of Honor.

Merrill & I took calf to sale. Shopped at Gouverneur. Very cold. P.N. Grands at Delles’ but I didn’t go.

Was 30° below zero last night. We went to city. Vern got picture taken at Rogers. 4-H at Nevilles but we didn’t go.

Boys went to Sunday School. Merrill went up to Lobdell’s after pills for cows.

Washed clothes. Rainy. Merrill went to lodge. I went to sewing Home Bureau lesson at Vi’s. Very foggy coming home.

Very bad sleet storm. Power went off at 6:40 PM. All our trees damaged. Took down wires. Wrote Mother Tryon.

No phone or electricity. Did cooking in furnace. No school.

No school. Beautiful day but no power or phone. Wrote Uncle Berle. Mom & Jim sent letter to Howard.

Power came on about 4:00 PM. Off for 69 hours. Howard & Ceil were here after eggs. Grand day. Got some of brush cleaned up. Boys didn’t go to school.

Got some more of paper on kitchen. Vernon worked on cupboards. We went up to Bill & Vi’s in evening. Vern went to show. Windy in evening. Got phone working again.

Rainy. Windy day. Boys & I went to Sunday School.

Ceil Allen’s birthday. No school.

Washed clothes. Finished papering. Basketball game over WATN. [A Watertown radio station.] Philadelphia won over Cape Vincent.

Rainy. Merrill, Vern, & I went to city. Ordered Vernon’s pictures. I went to lodge in evening.

Roy K. & Carl Hall were here with ice cream truck. Merrill & I went to adult education. Ironed.

Very stormy & slippery. Vernon didn’t feel too good when he got home from school. Stomach hurt.

Bennett’s were here today. Merrill got straw home from Cooks. 40 bales @.50. Baked pies, cakes, & cookies. 2 new milkers.

Boys & I went to Sunday School & church. Grand day. We went for ride to Oxbow & Antwerp in evening.

Washed & ironed. Jim played in basketball game. Merrill went to lodge. Windy. Vern took state scholarship test.

Stormy & windy & snowy by spells. I went to boudoir chair lesson in evening at the Fire Hall. Vern finished state scholarship test in AM.

Jim was sick with sore throat. Merrill & I went to Grange but not enough Juveniles came for Grange meeting.

Cold & windy. Very stormy out Adams way. Jim went to school. Merrill & I went to adult education. Last meeting in typing & shop.

Windy. World day of Prayer but I didn’t go. Merrill & I went to Clayton lodge with Les & Beulah. Jim played basketball.

Windy. We went to city after Vern’s pictures. Started out home but was so stormy turned around at Adams Center. Was nice here.

Car wouldn’t start in time so boys didn’t get to Sunday School. We went out home for dinner. Windy.

Washed & ironed. Merrill went to lodge.

I went to chair lesson at Fire Hall. Snowed in PM. Merrill cut brush.

Shellacked kitchen cupboards. I went to lodge. Merrill went to milk meeting at the high school.

Grand day. Kind of cool. Washed windows inside & outside. Vernon’s picture was in Times today as class Valedictorian.

Got letter from Mom wanting us to take farm. Nice day. I went to P.N.Grands at Elsie Bacon’s. Got home at 1:00 AM. Merrill finished cutting brush across road.

Aunt Edna Cobb died today. Aunt Cora called. Party for George & Margaret Waters but we didn’t go.

Boys went to Sunday School & church. Wet, snowy day.

Washed & ironed. Grand day but cold wind.

Merrill & I went to Aunt Edna’s funeral. Large funeral. Got letter from Mom, Mrs. Zimmer, & Mrs. Bennett. Merrill & I went up to Aunt Cora’s after funeral.

I was sick all day with cold & sick stomach. Jim stayed all night with Billy Mattingly.

Vernon sent $25.00 to Oswego College. I went to Bentley Corners Home Bureau at Belva Fikes for first time. Art Hall was here. Howard & Evelyn were over in evening.

Merrill & I went to Ken’s in PM. Merrill & Ken went to auction at Pulaski.

Baked pies & cookies. Cloudy, rainy day. Vern put up bird house. We all went to 4-H at Gordon Allen’s.

Snowy. Boys went to Sunday School. We all went to church.

Merrill’s 45th birthday. Bookkeeping adult education starts. I went. I made Merrill cake. We gave him shirt, candy, & cigars. Merrill went to lodge.

Merrill & I went to Gouverneur. I have headache. Nice day. Merrill got card from Mother Tryon.

Grand day. Did my ironing. I went to lodge. Past Noble Grands night. Merrill & boys went to minstrel show. Very good. Got letter from Juanita.

Eleanor’s birthday. Raining. wrote Eleanor & Juanita. I went to P.T.A. Received charter. Vern showed film for Coteriea [?]

Cancer meeting at Philadelphia High School but I didn’t go. Was too tired.

Baked & cleaned. Merrill & I went to party at Leah’s for Blanche Fikes. Boys went to show. Flood kids were over.
