I helped paper at IOOF Hall all day. Very hot. Merrill mowed first hay. Mom’s birthday. (60 years)

Cooler today. I helped paper all day at IOOF. I went to Grange in evening. Also Jimmy.

Boys go to school 1/2 day in AM. I went to Home Bureau at Helen’s. My last meeting as chairman. Vernon went to sports banquet at Sackets Harbor.

The birds have hatched in the large house in back yard. Mom wrote that Uncle Berle has had a letter from Dorothy. She is in Chicago.

We went to city in PM. Got grate of strawberries. $7.50. Got picnic basket.

Grand day. We went out home for dinner. We all went out to Buster Barker’s. Oren’s sister Ethel died last week of cancer.

Washed clothes. Went over to Vi’s & planned Home Bureau program & drew names for circles. We all went to graduation. Vernon won $2.50 shop prize.

Merrill, Jim, Vi, Martha, & I went to city. Ironed in evening. Awful hot. Terrible storm in evening. Rappole’s have bought Robertson’s house.

Another hot day. I went to Lodge meeting. Rebekah’s entertained IOOF. We all went. Hall looks nice.

Still hot. Worked in garden. Made white pique dress. Buker’s were here in evening.

Cooler today. Merrill, Jim, Vernon, & I went to city after electric motor for hay hoist. ($155.00) Baked pies & cakes.

Betty Alton & Hull boys wedding. Merrill & Vernon got hay hoist working. Drawed hay in PM. We all went to Black River Drive In theater for first time.

Joanne Flaherty & Roger Rappole’s wedding. Raining. Everyone sleepy. Merrill, Jim, & I went for ride in PM. Jim started bank account. Vern put money in bank. Wrote Helen.

Merrill went to Lodge. Washed & ironed in PM. Jim & I went to city in AM. I got new glasses & frames. $14.00. Jim got work shoes. $3.99. Got myself 2 pair play shoes.

Fresh Air’s arrived. We have Harry Aufderheide, age 8. Nice little boy. Took calf to sale.

Took Jim over for hair cut. Wrote Harry’s mother. I went to Grange in evening but not enough came for meeting.

Awful hot. Drawed hay all day. Lois Carroll & daughters were here in evening. Thunder storms in evening. W.S.C.S. but I didn’t go.

Had picnic dinner in yard. We went to Uncle Earle’s in PM. Drove up to Camp Drum. Stopped at Aynes.

Cleaned, baked, & washed. Drawed hay. Merrill baled hay. 30 acres done so far.

Don, Juanita, & Donna were here all day & evening. We all went on a picnic to the park. Don’s left about 12:30.

Still very hot. Washed & ironed. Merrill mowed hay. Put one load in barn.

Merrill baled & raked. Vern & I weeded garden. Mr. Campbell is in hospital with ulcers. Stanley Watson got hurt at Hardy’s. Fell off [?] house.

Baked cakes & cookies. We all went out home. Raining.

Vi & I got permanent at Ace. Mine was $4.00. Raining. Merrill went out home. Beulah & Les were here in evening.

Nice day. We all went to city. Saw Uncle Len & Uncle Earl. Vernon got new shoes. Loafers size 10. $5.90.

Drawed hay in PM & evening. Very hot. General Eisenhower got Republican presidential nomination.

We all went on picnic to the Bay. We took tour of Thousand Islands. Harry had ticket. Merrill baled hay in evening.

Washed & ironed. Baked. Didn’t feel good in AM. Drawed hay in evening. Very hot.

Harry, our fresh air, left this morning on the “Bee Liner”. Bill & Vi were here. I went over to Antwerp with Vi to see about band. Martha was here for supper.

Doris & Freddie Aynes moved on to Coolidge farm. Very hot. Drawed hay.

Jim & I went over to Doris Aynes. Went over town. Stopped to see Mary Beebe’s house. (Chapin house)

Took Doris a pie & cupcakes. Helen & Jane went with me. Very hot. Rained in evening. Got letter from Harry’s mother. Washed my hair.

Cloudy & muggy. 80 acres of haying done. We went to city. Stopped at Velma’s.

We all went to church. Wrote Carl & Mom. Still very hot.

Went to Burrville & city. Merrill bought combine at M. Farrel’s. “Allis Chalmers $1050.00.

Washed in PM. Painter was painting out back so couldn’t wash in AM. Did ironing.

Mr. Campbell isn’t very good. Had second operation.

Much cooler today. Seems good. Farrel’s brought new combine. Lena Klock broke her arm.

I went with Patricia Riley from Wisconsin on church advertising project from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Cooler today.

Finished haying today. Adlai Stevenson won Democratic nomination last night. Painter starting painting barns. Mr. Miles Whitewashed barn.

We went to Bill & Vi’s camp for picnic dinner. Was over to Lila’s few minutes. Saw Caroline Shelmidine. Bishops were there also. Had nice time.

Washed & ironed. Froze beans. I went over to Vi’s in PM.

Washed kitchen woodwork. We moved freezer up in kitchen from cellar. Worked over at church getting things set for social.

Ice cream social at church. Antwerp community band played. Good crowd. Made $35.00. I worked PM to evening. We all went to social.

Vi & I went to city. Got Merrill bug & snow shield for car. Merrill helped Shorty Hill at Mills.

Vern made cupboard for kitchen & painted it. Feel lazy today. Merrill worked at Mills.

Got ready for reunion. Cleaned & baked. Vernon painted cupboard. Merrill at Mills.

Had 2nd Haggerty reunion here. 99 for dinner & 30 for supper. Grand day & grand time. Vickie stayed.

We all went to GLF party. Vern won box of candy. Windy. Rained for first time in ages. Merrill started to combine grain but had to stop for rain. Merrill, Jim, Vickie, & I went to city.

Tired today. Washed out some clothes by hand. Merrill combined grain.
