Merrill & I went to Gouverneur & took plates back. Snowy. Boys start tests at school today. Virginia Delles had operation.

Awfully icy. I didn’t go to Lodge because it was so very icy. Vernon went to basketball game at Lyme Central.

Uncle Berle had operation at 8:00 AM today. Merrill & I went out to hospital to see him in evening. Plenty of planes around. Boys had last of tests. Called Mom.

Parachute jumps today. Didn’t jump in PM because of weather. Plenty of cars & people. Martha was over for supper. Bill & Vi came in evening. Power went off at 8:20 PM. Helen & Carl got new car.

Power didn’t come back on until 8:20 this morning. Had Drakes over to fix lights in barn. Bad fuse.Terrible icy. Never saw it so bad here. Vernon varnished sewing machine desk. Made cake for church cafeteria supper.

Went out to hospital to see Uncle Berl. Aunt Maude called & said Betty called to say Grandpa Haggerty is in hospital. Merrill & I went to hospital to see Grandpa in evening.

Washed clothes. Quite cold. Aunt Maude called to say Grandpa has operation tomorrow at 10:00 AM. Merrill went to Lodge. Jim didn’t go to school.

Army dropped equipment by parachute. Mass jumps called off because of grounded planes. Merrill & I went to hospital. Grandpa & Ethel had operations. Merrill played darts at Lodge.

Awfully cold. Mass jumps today. I went out collecting for March of Dimes.

Quite cold. Home Bureau meeting on pie crusts at Lucy Nevilles. I went. Merrill went to Mills to play dart baseball.

Merrill & I went to city to see Grandpa & Ethel & Uncle Berle. Laurence brought Jean to hospital. Raining. Got candy bars for Grange.

George Henderson butchered pigs. Nice day. Laurence & Jean have baby. Got letter from Lois White.

Grand day. Just like spring. Kessel & Marilyn were here in forenoon.

Washed & ironed. Merrill went to Lodge. Did part of pork.

Merrill finished cutting rest of pork. I went to W.S.C.S. meeting at church in PM.

Grange. Merrill, Jim, & I, went. Vernon had headache & didn’t go. Living room plaster fell off ceiling.

Home Bureau. Was at Barbara Mosher’s on mending & repairing. Merrill & I went to city to see Grandpa. Also saw Jean Hanson.

Sir Hubert Wilkins, arctic explorer, was here to inquire the way to Antwerp. Grandpa went home from hospital. Mr. Smith & Mrs. Hagan was over. Boys went to game.

Lots of parachute jumps today. Even a monkey jumped. “Jacko”. Helen & Carl & kids were over. Snowing again tonight.

I went to Lodge. Got prizes for card party tomorrow.

Card party at Legion for Heart Fund Drive. Made $13.80. Jim had party at school.

End of mock war maneuvers. Merrill & I went to city. Plenty of soldiers around.

Vernon has appointment with Dr. Kelsey. Had several teeth filled. $15.00. Baked pies, doughnuts, & cakes. Uncle Berle went back to hospital.

Boys & I went to church. Got stuck in driveway.

Made slipped custard pie. No beams yet.

We didn’t go to Grange. No Juvenile Grange because of 4-H meeting at city.

Lodge drill practice. Boys went to basket ball game. Mr. Smith & Merrill put beams on ceiling. Got letter from Mom. They have new furnace in. Uncle Berle is back in hospital.

No school. Mr. Smith started painting ceiling. Merrill & Vernon went to Gouverneur to get gear fixed.

Mr. Smith put last (2nd) coat of paint on ceiling. Looks nice. Baked cookies & cake.

Nice day. Helen, Carl, & kids were over in PM.

Washed & ironed. Tore off paper. Merrill took car to garage. Drove home a ‘36 Chevrolet. Merrill went to Lodge.

Nice day. Washed wood work. I feel terrible today. Awful dizzy.

Vi, Helen, & I, went to program planning meeting at Antwerp for Home Bureau. I went to Lodge in evening. Got our car home. New reverse gear.

Merrill & I went to city & out home. Got wall paper. Dad’s have furnace in & water works & bathroom about done.

I don’t feel so good today. Went to doctors in PM. Said it was from cold. Orv’s birthday. (48 years).

Vernon & I papered dining room. Looks nice. Aunt Esther had operation today. Uncle Rumsey’s Straders funeral in Canada.

Aunt Maude called. They & Uncle Len’s, & Uncle Earle’s went to Uncle Rumsey funeral. I feel pretty good today. Vernon stated archway book cases.

I still have awful cold. Jim was sick & didn’t go to school. Washed & ironed. I’m not feeling so good.

Finished papering living room. Jim didn’t go to school. Raining. Snowed in evening.

Jim went back to school today. Cloudy. I feel better today. Merrill & I went to Grange. Took Vernon’s ship clock for contest at Hotel Woodruff Friday & Saturday.

Home Bureau at Doris Webb’s. 3rd lesson on mending. Washed living room drapes. Quarterly conference at church. We didn’t go.

Put living room rugs down. Will paint floors later.

We all went to city. Nice art exhibit at Hotel Woodruff. Vernon painted archway book cases. Sent Uncle Berle birthday card. Sent in $30.22 to heart fund.
