Girls had to be in court at 10 AM. Took all day but she got annulment. They left for home about 7 PM. I gave first Home Bureau sewing lesson to group in PM. and to our new unit at Vi Mowers in evening. We named our new unit “Busy Home Makers”. 9 people in each group taking the lessons.

No school or mail. New Juvenile Grange installation. Installed 23 honorary members & 22 Juvenile members. I’m Juvenile Matron. Vernon Master. Merrill got home rest of lumber from Kiechle’s. Wrote Mom.

Cleaned & baked. Kind of sleepy. Talked with Aunt Maude & Lou Whitford & Emma about putting in paper about new Grange.

Awfully windy. Power off in PM & evening. Aunt Edna & Uncle Ed couldn’t come.

Raining. Made house dress. Merrill went to Lodge in evening. They played dart baseball with Theresa Lodge.

Merrill & I went out home. Got apples & potatoes. Vernon went to 4-H at Thibault’s.

Our first Juvenile Grange meeting. 20 members present. A few snow flurries tonight.

Gave second dress lesson at Carrie Dunn’s to afternoon group. Merrill went to Lodge at Evans Mills to play dart baseball. Rebekah card party.

Nice today. Cleaned furnace register. Claude Bechard was over. Mrs. Hagan got new cow clippers.

Snowed hard this morning. Ground covered.First time this fall. Did baking. Mr. Ralph Bishop is dead of a heart attack.

Rainy. We all went to church. Grangers Sunday.

Did two weeks washing. Snowy. Merrill went to Lodge at Theresa Lodge to play dart baseball. Leah’s mother hung herself last night.

Vi & I went down to Leah’s & helped in forenoon. Funeral at her house tomorrow. Got letter from Mom asking us out for Thanksgiving.

Vi, Esther, & I went down to Leah’s in forenoon. Very stormy. Terrible day for funeral. Went to Lodge in evening.

Thanksgiving. Went out home for dinner. Grandpa, Uncle Berle, Uncle Lloyd’s, & Marg, Bev & Beulah were there. Orv came in PM. Roads quite slippery.

Snow plow was in here for first time this fall.

We all went to city. Did some Xmas shopping. Got plastic covering for dining room chairs. Got set of bubble lights.

Very cold & snowy. We didn’t go to church. Jim has a bad cold.

No school today as the heating broke down. Boys were both sick with colds.Washed, ironed & shampooed my hair. Merrill went to Lodge. Washed slip covers.

Plow was over for second time.Wind blew snow in the road last night. School today. Raining.

Made pie for Grange card party. They made $23.00 for Juvenile Grange on card party & cake raffle.

Merrill practiced dart baseball in evening. Killed our beef. George Henderson, Uncle Ray helped.

Merrill & I went to city. I went to style show for Home Bureau. Cotton dresses. Was 45 there. Very nice.Merrill helped Uncle Ray take pork over town in evening.

Merrill has terrible head cold. Boy’s decorated windows for Xmas & made wall decorations.

Boys & I went to Sunday School & church. Stormy in afternoon & evening.

Washed clothes & did ironing. Merrill has been in bed all PM. Mr. McKeever died last night.

Vernon stayed home from school in morning to help with chores. Finished ironing slip covers. W.S.C.S. meeting at church but I didn’t go.

Grange. Juveniles made Santa Claus & trees & decorated windows. Boys & I went to Grange. Merrill not feeling very good. Vernon didn’t go to school in forenoon.

Had second sewing lesson here. Nine ladies present. Merrill not feeling much better. His ear is very sore.

Vernon stayed out this forenoon & helped with chores. Merrill went down to Doctor Draper’s. Gave him medicine & penicillin shot. Got first Xmas card. Uncle Earle & Aunt Kietha’s anniversary.

Alice called & said they were having a surprise anniversary party for Uncle Earle’s tomorrow. Quite cold.

Boys & I went to Sunday School & church. Had chicken dinner. Merrill slept all PM. Rainy & warm. Our 14th anniversary party at Uncle Earle’s today. [Did that turn out to be a surprise party for Bea & Merrill?]

Mom called. Washed clothes. Took beef over to Mills. 391 pounds. Went to Watertown. Merrill went to Lodge in evening. Got new secretary minute book for Rebekah. Did up Xmas packages.

We went out home in PM. Got Xmas tree. Got 500 pounds of potatoes for Carl’s & ourselves. Decorated tree. Elmer called from Pylmar [?] asking for money $140.

Went to Adams to bank. Did some shopping at Sears. Went to Lodge in evening. Alex Duff came home from hospital today.

Snowing tonight. Went over to Antwerp today shopping. Addressed Xmas cards. Sent for supplies for Rebekah’s.

Merrill & I went to city shopping in AM. Did ironing & pressed boy’s suits. Merrill took sunshine basket to Alex Duff from IOOF. Snowing.

Merrill & boys got hair cuts. Made button holes on my dress. Did cleaning. Sent Christmas cards.

Boys & I went to Sunday School. We all went to church. Raining. Went to Xmas Cantata at church in evening.

Washed & ironed. Merrill went to Lodge. Made Xmas sacks for Grange. Vernon made door Xmas wreath.

School Xmas program. Merrill & I went to it. Extra good. Got my Xmas present today. A grand platform maple rocker from Kamargo’s. Got gift of Readers Digest from Uncle Berle.

Grange. Juvenile’s put on program. We all went. All juvenile members were there. Very nice party. We all went to Watertown. Jim saw Santa.

First day of winter but very warm. Just like spring. 64°. Snow all gone. Merrill played dart baseball in evening.

Church Xmas program. We went. Was very good. Church was full. Miss Klock gave Jim book. Wayne Hardy gave Vernon nail file & candy cane.

Had our Xmas tree in evening. We all got nice gifts. Vernon got leather jacket size 36. Jim, high top shoes. Got Merrill Ronson lighter. Snowed today. Will not have a green Xmas after all. Plow was over.

Went to Orv & Angie’s for Xmas. Marg, Uncle Lloyd’s, Grandpa, Uncle Berle, & Beulah & Dad & Mom were there. A grand day. Had a nice time.

Kiechle’s old house on the Warmer place burned tonight during a heavy rain storm. They saved most of the machinery all except threshing machine, potato sprayer & cultivator. Merrill went to Lodge. Washed clothes.

Kiechle’s stored their machinery here yesterday. Rainy. Uncle Ray’s was over in evening. Did ironing. Vernon went to 4-H party at Thibault’s. Ben went with him.

Vernon & I have intestinal grippe. Jim sick with it in evening. I went to Lodge. Was on supper committee with Edna & Zelda. 37 there.Took out tree.

Merrill has intestinal grippe now. None of us feeling to perk. Colder. Wrote Mom. Juvenile Grange flag staffs & pins came today.
