Boys & I went to show Benefit of 4-H. Merrill went to Grange. Juanita worked at Mrs. Kiechle’s.

Sent Mom birthday card. Aunt K called to see if Juanita would care to work for Dorothy. We drove out to Uncle Earle’s in evening. Juanita worked at Mrs. Kiechle’s. Ice cream social.

Last day of regular school. Juanita worked last day for Mrs. Kiechle. Merrill painted roofs.

Papered bathroom. Gave Juanita Toni Wave. Dot, Slap, kids, Uncle Earle, & Aunt Keitha were here in evening. Kessel went to show.

We went out home today. Uncle Berle was there also. Kessel didn’t come home with us. Made Juanita shorts.

Merrill got hair cut. Called several about Father & Son Banquet. Juanita, kids, & I went over town. Dot, Slap, & kids came after Juanita & Donna. Aunt Maude & Cheryl were over. Merrill went to Lodge.

I washed & ironed. Rained hard today for first time in over a month. Sure seems good. Merrill worked in garden.

Merrill, Jim & I went to city. Got new tractor tires. Boys got hair cuts. Vernon finished exams today. He went with band to Pine Lodge at Black River. I went to Lodge.Was on supper committee.

Father & Son Banquet. I was chairman. Good turn out. Rev. B.Waters guest speaker. Merrill, Vernon, & Jim went to supper. Jim visited school.

Kind of tired today. Went over & paid bills. Turned in $55.10 on supper to Chapin’s. Vernon got out of school today for vacation.

Got graduation invitation from Calvin Congdon. Finished bathroom. Shampooed my hair. Got dress in mail from Mom. Wrote Fresh Air kids to come. Merrill got new tractor mower.

4-H picnic at City Park. We went & took load of boys. Had nice time. Quite warm. Kids got all tar in wading pool.

Wrote Mom. Started to wash clothes but machine broke. Got letter from Juanita. Borrowed Helen’s iron to do Vernon’s white clothes. Merrill went to Lodge. Vern went to graduation. Starting haying today.

Kessel got back today. Awfully hot. We went to ice cream social in evening at church. Rained in PM. Ironed.

Still hot. Painted dining room wall green & washed wood work. Very hot.

Still hot. Got my fleet iron home. Cost $3.50. Washed slip covers. Mom called & said they had postponed reunion. Went to Lodge doings in evening.

Helen & kids were over in evening. Made me sun dress to wear tomorrow. Shampooed my hair.

We went to Sunday School picnic at Crystal Lake. Kessel went with us. 44 there. Awfully hot. 104°

Cloudy. Muggy day. We stayed home all day. Ate our dinner on the porch with the flies. Ironed slip covers.

W.S.C.S. on church lawn. I didn’t go. Had to hay it. Washed clothes. Cleaned & waxed all the rugs. Merrill, Kessel, & Jim went to Adams. Kessel went to bank.

Grange. We didn’t go. It is a lot cooler today. Made me dress of lawn (printed) cloth.

Still quite cool. Finished ironing. Made me two piece white dress.

Dot brought Juanita & Donna out to stay until Tuesday. Finished filling hay mow over cows. 34 load. Hay awfully light this year.

Windy today. Made Juanita dress. Baked cakes & cookies.

Rebekah & IOOF picnic at Grasse Point. Rained so we didn’t go. Some went. We drove up to the park in PM. Carl, Kil, & Uncle Ray were over.

Merrill, Jim, Juanita Donna & I went to city. Got Merrill & Vernon new wrist watches. Ordered bicycle for Jim. Got my first telegram. Miriam can’t come this year. Started dress for Juanita.

Fresh Air kids arrive. Only Helen came. Juanita, Donna, Jim, & I went over & got her. Juanita got rest of teeth fixed. $29.00. Washed clothes.

Helen, Jim & I took Juanita & Donna back to Dorothy’s. Merrill went to city for part for rack.About 50 loads of hay in.

Kids went to Buck Creek swimming. Red Cross gave free lessons. I drove tractor today. Kids & I went to ice cream social in evening. Helen skipped rope. Cool today.

Vern & Jim went raspberrying back in woods. Canned 3 pints & made pie. Awfully hot. Rosie H was over.

Men went berrying. Canned 7 pints. Awfully warm. Got letter from Mom.

Ayne’s, Allen’s, Simond’s, Duff’s, and us went on picnic to Grasse Point. Had nice time even if we did get wet eating dinner.

Raining. Merrill, boys, & Helen & I went out home for dinner. Dorland & Pat were there. Eleanor also. Got letter from Uncle Berle from California.

Canned 60 pounds of frozen cherries. $6.75. Cloudy.

Washed clothes. Leah brought Pierce over to play with Helen. Carol Ward’s & Simond’s were here in evening.

Canned 30 pounds frozen cherries. Made cherry jelly.

Canned 3 pints raspberries. Made raspberry jam. Did Ironing.

Baked cookies & cakes. We went up to the park in evening & to Drive In theater. Saw Bambi.

Simond’s & Tryon’s went to Alexandria Bay on picnic. Kids went around Islands. Had wonderful time.

Helen’s last day here. Goes home tomorrow. Raining. Washed clothes & ironed. Helen, Jim, & I went over town.

Helen left today on 9:50 train. She didn’t want to go. Finished haying today. Dick Scee has new son born today.

Gave myself a Toni Wave. Mom called & said lightning struck out there today. Did some damage. Men drawed out logs today. Muggy today.

Talked with Aunt Maude, Beulah, Margaret, Vi, & Lula. Awfully hot. Canned beans. Home Bureau picnic at Childs’ Falls. I didn’t go. Merrill & I went to city in forenoon.
