Baked pies & cake. Finished ironing. Feeling lots better. Had pop corn & apples in evening. Sent for coat & suit for Jim.

Snowing some. Went to church. Vern went to Sunday School. He taught a class today. Vern made fudge.Stayed home in PM.

Washed & ironed. Made Mom’s house dress. Vern came home from school sick. Merrill went to Lodge.

Nice day. Made Mom’s other dress. Shampooed my hair. Talked with Helen & Vi. Vern is quite sick.

Had Dr. Draper for Vernon. Mom & Dad & Marg came for supper & stayed all night. I didn’t go to Lodge.

Dr. Draper gave Vern second shot of Penicillin. Mom, Dad & Marg left about 3:00 PM. Jim went home with them. Chamber of Commerce supper at church.

Snowing today. Vern not feeling much better. Talked with Helen, & Marguerite.

Dr. Draper was here for 3rd time. Mom called.Uncle Lloyd wants bull calf. Snowy & cold & windy.

Merrill & Uncle Ray went out home after Jimmy. Nice day. Vernon sat up awhile today.

Vernon has been up quite a lot today. Washed & ironed. Merrill & I went to city. Got new mattress & springs. Took 3 calves to sale. Merrill went to Lodge. Mom called to say Aunt Esther is in hospital (General) at Rochester with pneumonia.

Nice day. Jim, Merrill & Carl K was over & got old car. Talked with Lula, Helen, Mrs. Hagan, Aunt Lou, Emma F. & Eleanor H. Vernon feeling quite a lot better.

Gave $1.00 to Red Cross. Elsie Bacon soliciting. Grange. Merrill went. Ruth Hardman showed cancer pictures. Cleaned boys rooms for play room. They started sleeping upstairs. Snowing.

Quarterly Conference at church. Covered dish supper. We all went. Minister’s salary was raised to $1400. 51 present.

Quite cold. I went to Home Bureau at Carrie Dunn’s. Covered dish supper. Got letter from Mother Tryon.

Still cold but nice. We went out to Adams to see about getting Kessel to work. Mother Tryon gave Merrill nice quilt for his birthday.

Took calf out to Uncle Lloyd. He is sick in bed. Aunt Esther went home from hospital yesterday to Reba’s. Mom is with Uncle Lloyd.

Merrill got card from Eleanor. Cloudy but warm. I was sick all night. Still don’t feel so good. Talked with Helen & Aunt Maude. Merrill went to Lodge. Sent card to Mary Stinson. Set electric line poles.

Merrill’s 40th birthday. Washed clothes. Nice day. Did part of ironing. Have terrible back ache. Made Merrill birthday cake.

Merrill went to Floyd Shemel’s to see about papers for bull. Got letter from Mom. Merrill got more birthday cards. I went to Lodge in evening.

Buster & Marie have baby girl. Vickie Ann. Grand day. Sent card to Eleanor & letter to Mom. Went to city in PM. Aunt Maude went with us. I was sick when I got home.

Windy but very spring like. I was taken awful sick. Had Dr. Draper in evening. Gall bladder attack.

Was in bed all day. Awfully weak. Can’t have only crackers & tea. Was suppose to go to Syracuse today. Eight of them went to Rebekah School of Instruction.

Rainy but awfully warm. Aunt Maude, Lila & children were here. Got up today. Lila said Buster & Marie had baby girl.

Feel a little better today. Still quite weak. Merrill went to Lodge.

W.S.C.S. meeting at the parsonage. My last meeting as President. Margaret Waters is president. I’m Vice President.

They put up new electric light line across field. Started using it. Washed clothes. Nice day. Uncle Len & Betty’s anniversary.

Did ironing & waxed kitchen floor. Drill practice. Edna Cross took my place. Bad fire at Antwerp.

Went to party in evening for Bill & Vi’s 14 th anniversary which was Tuesday. Baked. Party at Esther & Ernie Buker’s.

Nice day. Merrill started building fence. Shortened Jim’s suit.

Boys went to Sunday School. We all went to church. Had vet for cow. Mercer’s don’t want milk anymore. Uncle Ray & Aunt Maude were here in evening.

Grand day. Baked bread. Talked with Helen, Mrs. Hagan, Lois, Mrs. Kiechle, & Aunt Maude. Merrill went to Lodge.Wrote Mom.

Grand day. Merrill fixed cement floor in milk house. Got letter from Mom. Announcement from Jean & Lawrence. Went to Lodge at Watertown. Put on drill.

Movie “King of Kings”. Boys & I went. The best movie I ever saw. Snowing hard today. Very slippery & wet. Merrill painted Mills house.

Mom’s phone goes dial. Their number is 2-6741. Washed & ironed. Baked cake & cookies. Got letter from Mom. Dad is sick.

Appointment with Dr. Roberts 3:00 PM. Expect to go to hospital Monday. Got new white moccasins $2.99. Talked with Mom. Dad feeling better. Got card from Grange.

Sent letters to Marie B, Mabel P, & cards to Alice,Cora Cliby, & Mrs. Hill. Sent letter to Mother Tryon& birthday card to Dad. Boys got hair cuts.

Dad’s birthday. Mom called to say they wouldn’t be out today. Boys went to Sunday School & church. Rosie H was over in PM. Merrill washed truck. I washed my hair.

Entered hospital. Vern went to basketball meeting at city. Took Jim out home. Had to take him to Dr. Penhallow before we went. Has the grippe.

Had my operation about noon. Merrill was here. Gall bladder stones.

Spring musical at school. Vern sang in chorus. Merrill was here. Awful sick from gas & ether. Started drawing milk to Antwerp.

Merrill, Mom, Marg, Dot, Aunt Keitha, & Alice were here. I was awfully sick all day. W.S.C.S. sent flowers. Merrill brought Lily.

Merrill was here in PM. They moved me into other ward. I’m taking penicillin for sore throat.

Have coughed quite a lot today but feeling good. Got up & sat in chair. Went to bathroom. Merrill & Aunt Maude were here in PM. Aunt Keitha was here in evening.

Easter Sunday. Merrill, Mom, Marg, Dad, Ken & Eleanor were here in PM. Kind of tired tonight. Vernon joined Philadelphia Methodist Church today.

Can go home tomorrow. Feel good today. Merrill, Mom & Eleanor were up today.

Eleanor had her operation at Syracuse. Came home today. Kiechle’s came up after me. Sure seems good to be home. Talked with Helen. Vernon has work all done up. Everything so clean.

Sure swell to wake up at home this morning. Got card saying Eleanor had her operation yesterday. Coming OK. Merrill & Vern went out after Jim. Helen & Mrs. Hagan were here.

Went to doctors & had stitches out. Kiechle’s took us up. Feel lots better. Merrill got 3 new shirts & pants. Uncle Ray was over in evening.

Sent card & letter to Eleanor & card to several. Got nice plastic apron from Grange. Got card from Juanita saying she was coming.

Went up to see Dr. Roberts. Have to go back in about a month. Paid doctor bill. $158.00. Talked with Aunt Keitha & Marg. Kiechle’s took us to city. Merrill got Vernon shoes. $6.99. Also bed sheets at $1.98 each.
