Helen got home from hospital. Talked with Mrs. Hagan & Vi. Leah & Claude had surprise anniversary party for us. 16 there. Had swell time & got nice presents. Got letters & cards from Mom, Mrs. Zimmer.

Merrill & Uncle Ray went to sawing contest at Plessis. Talked with Beulah, Lulu, Aunt Maude. Went to circle supper at church. Had change of program.

Went out home for dinner. Did shopping in Adams. Jim & I went over town & up to Helen’s. Aunt Maude called.

Talked with Leah & Helen. Decorated tree & house for Xmas. Mr. Suits & Emma F. called. Called Aunt Maude.

Washed & ironed. Merrill went to Lodge. Talked with Leah. Went to board meeting at church to plan new kitchen.

Sent Xmas cards. Wrote Uncle Berle. Juanita, Don, Sylvia & husband came. Ancel is very ill in hospital at Carthage. Went to Xmas program at school.

Don & Juanita went out home. Merrill towed Don’s car out. Quite cold. Talked with Beulah, Vi & Aunt Maude.

Aunt Maude was over & sewed Cheryl’s dresses. Merrill worked over at church. [kitchen remodeling project] Got letter from Mom. Wrote Aunt Keith & Card to Mom.

Snowing some in evening. Merrill helped at church again. Have quite a lot done on it. Washed curtains. Talked with Beulah & Helen.

Wrote Aunt Keitha. Got card saying Angie & Orv had a baby girl born Dec. 18. Talked with Helen, Aunt Maude & Uncle Ray. Went over town.

Washed & ironed. Merrill went to Lodge. Aunt Maude was over & we dressed ducks & chickens.

Donna Roth’s 4th birthday [Juanita’s child]. Talked with Juanita. Washed kitchen woodwork & painted washing machine. Mrs. Hagan gave us $10.00. Boys mittens.

Uncle Earl brought Grandpa. Had our Xmas tree. Uncle Ray’s & Lila’s were here. Talked with Marg. Roy is sick. Talked with Juanita & Helen & Aunt Maude.

Uncle Ray went out to get Dad & Mom. Grandpa, Uncle Roy’s, Don, Juanita & Dorland [Juanita’s brother] & Donna were here for dinner. Dad’s, Uncle Roy’s, & Grandpa for supper. Merrill took Dad home. Mother & Dad Tryon came.

Talked with Helen, Vi. Lulu Federson was here. Took Vernon over to church to practice.Got package from Gloria.

Merrill took Mother & Dad Tryon home. Stopped to see Uncle Berle at post office. Evelyn at drug store. Talked with Aunt Maude. Ben was over.

Went to church. Talked with Helen & Aunt Maude. Vernon went bob-sledding with Ben behind car. Went to Xmas cantata at church in evening. Vernon had a part.

Awfully cold last night. Merrill helped paint cupboards at church. Talked with Aunt Maude, Vi, Beulah, Lulu. Got letter from Mom.

Took down Xmas tree & decorations. Talked with Leah. Merrill has cold & doesn’t feel good. I start writing in my new diary tomorrow. Cloudy.

Got letter from Gloria, Mom & Juanita. Went over to Aunt Maude’s & decorated cakes for Grange. Sent our names in to Grange. Talked with Leah.

Went to city. Wrote Uncle Berle, Juanita. Was over to Lilian’s. Talked with Beulah H. Saw Mother & Dad Tryon at city. Also Lois & Arlene Pitkin.

Oren Jr’s birthday. Talked with Helen & Aunt Maude & Edna. Cleaned upstairs. Wrote Marg & Mom.

Real cold. Cleaned floors. Cleaned living room rug. Sent for dial calendar. Sent in Income Tax.

Milk tester came in evening. First time. Nice day. Talked with Helen. Didn’t go to church.

Talked with Aunt Maude, Helen, Lila & Edna. Very stormy day. Milk tester left. Open installation at Odd Fellows Lodge tonight. We didn’t go as it is so stormy & Vernon came home sick from school

Blood tested cows. Lila has baby girl. Talked with Beulah, Addie, Uncle Ray, & Helen. Got letters from Mother Tryon & bill from Dr. Reed for $250 which I don’t owe him. Parachute jumpers on Pine Camp. Warm today.

Started out home but was so icy we didn’t go. Went to Lodge in evening. Awfully cold. Lila named her baby Vickie Lynn. Talked with Aunt Maude & Uncle Ray.

Terrible cold all day. The Grange had a card party tonight but we couldn’t go because of the weather. Talked with Helen, Aunt Maude, Mrs. Ronas, & Leah.

Story day. Very windy. Cora Haley had another operation. Talked with Helen, Aunt Maude.

Lila & Vickie came home from hospital. Went over town & got juice for sunshine box for Cora. Talked with Beulah, Addie, & Helen.

Went out home for dinner. Roy, Marg, Ken, Eleanor, Aunt Myrtle & Uncle Berle were there. Also talked with Helen & Uncle Ray. Aunt Maude went over to Lila’s to stay until Tuesday.

Awfully cold. Water pipes and drain frozen. Vernon got out of school early because of the cold. Wrote Dot & Aunt Keitha.

Washed clothes. Merrill dug up drain. Got letters from Mom & Marg & Juanita. Aunt Maude got home from Lila’s. Went over to Lodge to practice drill.

Got letter from Aunt Keitha. Merrill got drain fixed. Telephone man was here. Talked with Helen, Aunt Maude, Leah, & Beulah. I’ve been sick all day. Went to Grange at night and took 1st & 2nd degree.

Went to card party at Rebekah’s. Boys stayed with Grandpa at Aunt Maude’s. Talked with Helen, Aunt Maude, Leah. Quite stormy during day. Kiechle’s pressed hay down by here at old house.

Clear & cold. Went over to Beulah Halls to make out slips for W.S.C.S. supper. Aunt Maude & Vi went too. Talked with Helen.

Real cold. Wrote Mom. Vernon went to show in afternoon. Baked bread, cake & pies. Talked with Beulah.

I went to church. Leah, Claude & Elmer were here for dinner & supper. Gave Leah Toni wave. Still cold.

Washed clothes. Ironed. Stormy in evening. Talked with Helen, Beulah & Aunt Maude.

Killed pig at Carl’s. Jim & I went over too. Talked with Aunt Maude.

Very stormy. Made lard. Merrill cut up pig. Got a “catch” in my back tonight. Got new truck license plates. Two this year.

Chamber of Commerce supper. No school or no roads. Couldn’t go with milk. Talked with several people about supper.
