Eleanor, kids, & I, went to Gouverneur in AM and to Crystal in PM. Hot. Eleanor & Roberta went home in evening. Brenda stayed all night.

Had our family together at Dad’s for picnic before Vernon leaves for Maryland. Ken’s, Don’s, Dad’s, & us.

Marty’s 15th birthday. Got long letter from Vern. Mr. & Mrs. Bennett were here. Merrill took 4 calves to sale. We voted at Antwerp. Jim had first driver education lesson. Merrill paid school taxes. $186.75.

Grand day. Mr. Gonyea helped Merrill fill silo. Got third letter from Vernon. Harry Waters funeral.

Got table cloth for kitchen table. Mr. Gonyea was here all day helping with corn. Sent card & letter to Vern.

Cool. Paid $3.00 more on coat. Jim wrote Vernon.
