A beautiful day like summer. Lots of election stuff on TV and radio and I the mailbox. I’ll be glad when it is over with.

Another great summer like day. In 70’s again. I washed clothes. Washed my hair and put it up on rollers. A lonesome day. Wish I could have went out to see Merrill. I had small pizza for supper. Good. Jim called in evening. They rode bikes to Finger Lakes region today. A great day for it. Vivian called in evening. Becky had baby girl, 7 pounds 6 ounces, last night. May name her Marlene. Her other girl is 1 year old in August. Clark and Vivian’s new mobile home arrived yesterday. Is located at Colton near their camp. I set the clocks back to Standard time.

Some rain in morning. Nice rest of day. I went to church. Huntress’s came for me. 71 at church. 45 to Sunday School. All saints day. I lighted a candle for Mom and Dad. Also communion. An Egyptian airplane with 214 people on it went down in Atlantic Ocean early this morning. It had just left OK. 199 passengers 15 new. All lost. Joyce Purcell has been moved to Carthage Hospital from Syracuse. I rang my life line my mistake at 5 AM. I rolled over on it. Jim and Nancy here on bike. Two boys here from Mormon’s. Jolie called in evening. Only 4 kids here “Trick or treating”. Laura Wandam Kara’s cute little girls. Kara 13 months a cute little girl. Kara 13 month. Good to see them.

A sunny day. Bryant Gumble and Jane Crayson start new morning show ’’CBS. I called eye center and drug store. Also called Lyla. She will take me to vote tomorrow. She wants me to go to supper at legion hall. Turkey supper put on by Legion. Talked with Clark and Vivian when they were out for walk. Vi brought me my mail. I got a nice letter from Merrill’s niece Nancy Neal. Took it 12 days to come from Salina, Kansas.

Rainy windy, cloudy. Lyla took me up to vote. She took me to store after. I got flowers for Merrill. If I can get them to him. Lyla and I went to Civic League turkey supper at Legion Hall. Very good. A large turnout. I won most of my votes if not all of them. Mayor Graham city, got beat by 25 votes. Butler new mayor. Very windy and rainy in evening.

Sunny in morning. Raining PM. They are predicting Lake Effect snow. Mayor Jeff Graham is accepting his loss yesterday very well. Butler on in a close race. I got letter from Social Services concerning my medical coverage. I don’t understand it.

Very windy. A real cold wind. Amy here to clean. Not as much to do today. Jim called. He said Nancy would pick me up after she got out of work. Jim brought me home He stayed for supper. Merrill not too alert until they brought his supper tray I took him some flowers, peanuts, and a picture of Jolie, Shawn Michael. Merrill and I. I brought home our big picture of him and I. Helen K called in evening. We had great visit. Lyla called also. She wants to take me to city tomorrow.

Nice day Warmer. Windy. Lyla and I went to city. We ate at Arby’s on way . My first time there. We spent time with Merrill. He was in good spirits and in a busy mood. He had moved the chair all over. We went to Charthouse to get my pills. Jim and I forgot the last night. I was very tired when I got home A 19 year old soldier killed on Fort Drum (Antwerp) when 5 ton truck he was driving tipped over. 19 soldiers riding on back hurt. 2 quite bad.

Sunny day in the 40’s. Laura Lancaster called and asked me to go to craft shows with her and Laura but I couldn’t get ready in time. Rick S came to door while I was in shower to ask if I had garb age to go to dump. Said he’d get it next time. I hollered out the bathroom window at him. I washed white clothes.

Nice day. I went to church and Sunday School with Huntress’s and Alice. 71 out 41 in Sunday School. Sue got gifts and fixed box for me for “Operation Christmas box” I gave her $14 for stuff and put a $5 check in box. I came home with Margaret. We went over to firehall and bought take out biscuit and chicken takeouts. They had benefit for Leroy and Joe. Jolie called in PM. All well. Zack gets home the 12th. She has sent pictures. Joyce Purcell died this morning. Her family was in church.

Cloudy. I sent back SSI check. $367. Also sent for sweater and pants and shirts for Merrill. Two of each. I got real cute pictures from Jolie. Madison is growing so fast. Also Shawn.

A warm sunny day. Strong wind. Jim called in AM. He’s taking off work this PM to go biking. Jolie called and talked for ½ hour. Zack told her last night he is getting out of the army when his time is up. I called Social Security about medical payments. I have to pay $54 a month toward drugs. Jolie said Shawn Lawler has gone to Florida to find work. I called care givers. They called back to say Kathy would be here Friday at 9-11 AM. Vi called in evening.

Raining hard most of day and evening. Rebekah’s. 7 there. Vi and Esther came. I sent Zack birthday card, note and $10. I sent Jolie check to help out on pictures. Sent telephone bill $43.15 for 3 months. I called Vern in evening. June at a church meeting. He is going to call Social Service Office for us.

Nice but cold. Sunny. Dr. LaPoint 11:15 AM. Blood work first. My blood count is 11. BP 150/84. She changed my Relafen I’ve taken so long for arthritis. Lyla took me to city. We ate at Crystal. We went to see Merrill. He was at day care. He was in very good spirits and very talkative. Looked good. They had given him blood work today. Bonnie took him. The nursing hoe called and said Merrill fell and hurt his arm Nothing too bad.

Not bad day. Rather cold wind. I washed my blouses. Burned papers in burning can. Kathy Hicks here in place of her daughter Amy from 12 -2. She went to store for me. I got letter from Jolie. Zack is supposed to get home today. I called Jim at work. He is going to check on his dad Jim said they called him awhile back and told him Merrill had fallen. That must be the night the phone woke me up at 11:30 PM.

Cloudy day. Police chief Brothers asked to turn in his badge and gun for drinking. I called Jim. He has headache. He went to Gordon Spinner’s funeral at Adams. He was a retired policeman The Pokémon craze hitting the kids. Schools banning the cards.

Rain off ad on but warm. I went to Sunday School and church. Glenn Coon had bad spell in church. They took him to hospital by ambulance. Upsetting. Rev. Jane, the Durgins, and youth group got back from “Acquire the Fire” weekend in Canada. Exciting and spiritual. Jim here in late PM. He burned his papers but didn’t get my storm windows on as it started raining. Robert, Cheryl, Breanne Congdon and Cheryl’s mother’s here in evening. Good to see them.

Zack’s 23rd birthday. Vern called in AM. He talked with Mr. Chapman, case worker about Medicaid. I sent letter to Dr. LaPoint about fill out blank for care giver. Lyla called in morning. I sent for sweater set to Blair’s.

Very cold. Partly sunny. I called Lyla. Jim called. Also Nancy. She said Joel is coming home for Christmas. He and Camille. Nancy took me to Madonna home and Jim brought me home Jim and I ate supper at Bob Evans on way home. Jim has a new GMC big truck. Nice, black color. There is a big shortage of teachers in New York State. Nursing home called after I got home and said Merrill fell in bathroom again tonight. He wasn’t hurt. This is the 4th time they have called that he has fallen.

Cold. Sunny. I washed my bed linens and towels. I turned the bed springs and mattress.

Much warmer. Sunny. Amy here to clean. Jim called to say Genesis Health care is declaring bankruptcy. Tania called to tell him. Wouldn’t make any difference with the patients. I got a beautiful birthday sister card from Ken and Esther. They both wrote me letters. I also got birthday cards from Margaret H and lifeline.

A like summer day. 65°. Lyla called to say she is sick with her gall bladder. She’s been sick since 2 AM Tuesday morning. We won’t be going to the youth’s spaghetti supper at church tonight. I got birthday cards from Art and Doris, Mary Hall, Rev. Jane and Methodist church folks.

Cloudy. Raining. I washed clothes. Took shower and washed my hair. Vern called in PM. They want to come up after me Thanksgiving Day, go see Merrill and then go out to eat. I got birthday cards from Vern and June, and Lyla. Got long letters from Jolie and Debby. Debby was going to California November 19 until December 1 or 2. She isn’t feeling very well.

A pretty cloudy day but nice. Warm. I didn’t go to church. My 62nd birthday. Jim came for me and we went to church service with Merrill at Madonna Chapel. Nice. Portal Rico speaker and singer. Teen young man did the scriptures. Robert and Cheryl Congdon stopped by on way home from up north. Had been after a table for Cheryl’s mother. I went to Tracy Bird Western show over here at Indian River Theatre. My first time there. A great 2 hour show. All 1400 seats filled. I called Jolie in late evening. Talked with all of them. Madison is going to have her mother’s gift of gab. She jabbered to me over the phone. I had a read nice visit with Shawn Michael. They all seem very happy.

A warm summer day. Darcy was here. She is visiting her mother. Also Bret. Linda and Rick have bought a 44 acre farm on Route 3 at Pitcairn. She is selling the house over here. Doris Haggerty called to ask how Lyla was. She said Stuart and Lori and kids have moved into their former house. They are selling the trailer. Vivian called. Lyla and girls went to Syracuse shopping. The Madonna Home called and said Merrill fell again in dining room. Hurt his sore arm.

Another warm day. Partly sunny. 67°. Amy here to clean. She went to store for me. She got me a 15 pound Butterball turkey. Darcy was over in PM. Madonna Home nurse Linda called to say Merrill fell again today. Scraped his sore elbow again. They can’t keep him in wheel chair unless Dr. Fish says he should be there. Jolie called. Both she and Zack have offers of jobs. I got a letter from her. Lyla called. She has to have gall bladder operation December 12. I got part of Blair order, Merrill’s 2 pair stretch pants. I got letter from Jolie.

Windy warm 65°. They called from Madonna about Jim or I going to podiatrist with Merrill on Friday, December 3rd in the PM. Also talked with Phyllis. She has changed two of Merrill’s medications. She said they were too strong for him. They are going to put him in a generic chair when he’s groggy. Jim called after work. He has to have an ultra sound.

Cloudy. Some sun. Genesis called at 6:15 AM to say Merrill fell again. Darcy was over to say good bye. She goes home in morning. Vern and June came after me about 10 AM. We went to see Merrill. He wasn’t too alert but ate his turkey dinner. We went to Ramada for 1 PM dinner. Jim was working but came to eat with us. Also Jill and Daryl. A lovely dinner. Nice time. We saw Brenda (Rudes) Kim and Brendo’s father and mother and new husband. Good to see her.

Raining hard all day and evening. Steve, Kathy, Kristen, and Sarah came to Vern and June’s to celebrate Thanksgiving. A most delicious turkey dinner and wonderful day together. Sarah and Kristen are sweet little girls. My eye all messed up by spells. I’m seeing green all over the living room.

Nice day. No rain. Vern and June brought me home in AM. Vern put on bedroom storm window. He took stuff to dump. They had lunch here. They left here about 1 PM. I went with Margaret K to party at church for Wayne and Nancy’s 25th anniversary. Very nice. It was given by their children at church. I called Lyla. She’s feeling okay. We stopped to see Merrill on way hoe. He was pretty good.

A cold wind. Not a bad day. I went to Sunday School and church with Huntress’s and came home with Margaret K. 60 in church. Hanging of the greens. Nice. Jolie called in PM. We talked for 1 ½ hours. Madison jabbering up a storm as usual. Wish I could see her. Jim called tonight. He was home. I called Elgin in evening. Carmi was in bad at 7:30 PM.

cold wind. Snow in places. I had calla bout ride to city tomorrow from Ramona. They didn’t bring my dinner for some reason. I called center. Vern was here. He had to visit South Jefferson and Indian River cadet teachers. Lyla had ultra sound.

Some snow on ground this morning. Sunny. Tony Hull here to clean furnace. Also fixed leak in faucet on sink. He put new kit in it. Dr. Sanni 1:45 PM. Ramona from Antwerp took me out. Lyla called. Also Jim. He will pick me up at eye center. We went to see Merrill. He was good. We went to Charthouse for my drugs. We saw John Kiechle there. I get letter from Jolie and small school picture of Shawn Michael. Merrill’s 2 sweat shirts came. Also my 2 piece gray sweater set. I got post card from Debbie from California. She’s seeing the sights and having a great time. Jim saw his dad twice today. Jim went to bike meeting at Hastings in evening.

Cold all day. Sunny. I washed clothes. Jolie called at suppertime to say she got the job in the bank. Takes 2 weeks training. Zack is already working extra job on security on weekends. Jim goes for ultra sound.

Nice day. Kind of cold. Donna to give me perm. She got here about 3:30. Left at 6 PM. Madonna Home called. Merrill has lost nice pounds. He is doing better without so much medication. Vern called in evening June is working on my diaries. Vern sound as if he’s enjoying it also. We got thank you card from Huntress’s.

Cloudy day. Merrill to Dr. Mapack , Podiatrist. 2:30 – 4 PM. Cecelia and Jim took him. He slept through it after all the fuss about it. Baptist church supper for seniors. Lyla was over in AM. I sorted letter in the holders on kitchen cupboards. Jim has called twice today. He is not feeling well. Goes to Doctor Tuesday for test reports.

Raining all day. 48°. UMC Bazaar 9 AM. Lyla brought me 3 dozen home made donuts at $3.. Joyce an Sina and Nancy and Wayne made them. Delicious. I ate 3 for lunch. I got Christmas card with note from Juanita. Got invite to birthday party for Vi Mowers. 85th on December 12th at Susan’s. Her birthday is December 15th. Jim called in PM He will be out tomorrow to take me to see Merrill. Joel is coming December 23rd.

Raining in AM. Sunny in PM. Warm 65° I went to church. Wayne, Nancy and Alice came for me and brought me home. We had 76 in church. 46 in Sunday School. They packed cookies to send to our adopted platoon in Bosnia. Jim and Nancy came out to get me and took me to see Merrill. He was pretty good. He hurt his thumb. He got it caught in his bed as he fell. Jill’s friend Darrell shot a deer. My arthritis bad today. Rev. Jane asked that we be thinking about a building project for church basement so we can have more Sunday School rooms. Genesis had very pretty Christmas tree in lobby.

Rainy. Clear in PM. I wrote and mailed several checks to pay bills. Lyla was over. She called Loren trader last night. Gilson gaining slowly. Loren is finally a grandfather. His daughter, Sharon and husband had baby boy Aaron 7 pounds 2 ounces. Anniversary of Vera’s birthday same day of Gilson’s operation. I put door wreaths on doors. We got anniversary and Christmas cards from Loren, Sandy, and Ed.

Colder and cloudy. Pearl Harbor Day. 58 years ago. Kim from Genesis called about money for Merrill’s hair cut Thursday. I called Jim about it. Nutritional Center sent shelf food care package for winter storm days. My arthritis terrible all day. I hate to move. I called Ginny. We leave at 11 AM for Esther’s. We got several cute pictures of Madison. How I wish I could see her and Shawn Michael. Jolie called in evening. She had called Jim earlier. Jim called in evening. Dr. Maise told him his ultra sound showed he had cyst in his kidney. He is to see doctors for his kidneys and one for his stomach problems.

Cold and cloudy in AM. Sunny in PM. I called June and Vern in morning. Vern gone to visit school. Rebekah’s Christmas party at Esther’s in Sackets Harbor. I went with Deidra Delles. Vivian and Diane. 10 of us there. Esther had nice luncheon. A good time was had by all. Decided that we would exchange a $5 gift next year instead of $3. Joyce Griffin called when I got home. We had nice visit. Lyla called. She went to see Dr. Khon today. All set for her operation on Monday.

A great day. Like summer. June Ridsdale here with her usual gifts. Also brought me some tree lights. She left and Amy came to clean. We got down tree and decorations. Got some of them up. The washbasin hot water faucet was leaking. I called Jim and he said to call Robin’s. Lyla came to take me over town but Toni didn’t come until 3 PM. Lyla had just left. Vivian Trise came as he left. They are moving to Colton Saturday and leave fro Florida Monday December 13. I hate to see them leave. They will be home April 15th. Janet can sell the house for them. Alice Flaherty called in evening.

Raining. Lyla took me over town and bank and Big M. Got two poinsettias plants. I’ll take one to Merrill tomorrow. I called Jim in AM. Washed some clothes. I returned signed letter to Dr. Majeck for Merrill. My arthritis bad today. It is in Times that Genesis has laid off 17 employees. Looks like there will be some changes for Merrill. I wish he was in Samaritan Keep. Jolie and Madison called about 11 PM. Madison jabbering a mile a minute. She had been for her 3 shots. She weighs 13 ½ pounds and is 24 inches long.

Cloudy and cold in morning. Sunny and warmer in PM. Our 64th anniversary!! Clark and Vivian moved the rest of their things to Colton today. It will be sad to see their house dark. Jim and Nancy came out after me at noon. Merrill was in a bad mood in AM. He wouldn’t get dressed. He hanged after we got there. Jim and Nancy went shopping and I spent all PM with Merrill. I took him a pretty red poinsettia for our anniversary. I have one like it here.

Cold but a real nice day. I went to Sunday School and church with Huntress’s. Alice F and I came back here with Margaret K. Then we all went to Vi Mower’s 95th birthday p arty at Watertown. Lots of folks there and she sure was surprised. Lyla took us. She is a good driver. It was a nice party. Jolie called in evening. I also talked with Shawn Michael. Jim and Nancy were here while I was gone and couldn’t find me.

Cold. Started snowing around noon, Ground white. Jim called in AM. Charthouse called to say they had my Alphagan eye drops. Margaret K called in evening. Lyla’s gall bladder operation. I called Kathy in evening. Lyla had the 3 hole operation. They are keeping her overnight. She had a lot of adhesions. She will go to Cheryl’s tomorrow PM. Michele Rennie from 801 brought me nice gift bag she made for all the folks she delivered hot meals to. She is such a sweet person. She gave me her phone number in case I ever needed anything.

Cold. Snowing at 8:30 PM. I mailed 3 bank statements to office of again for Heap. Sent Shawn Michael birthday card and check. Sent Lyla card with note and $5 to Cheryl’s house. Lyla went there from Carthage hospital this PM. I played 33 ½ records on my old re cord player in evening. Haven’t used it in years. Taped Christmas songs on cassettes. New radio not working so used my old one. Jim was on TV local newscast telling people how to protect their home from burglars. He did a good job and looked good on TV. Snowing hard in evening but beautiful with all the village and school lights. Linda B had Christmas lights on her house and garage. A good night for my old records. The spirit of Christmas. Snow plow by for first this winter at 11 PM. We got lovely family picture of Steve, Kathy. Girls are so pretty.

Great to see snow on the ground but it is melting fast. 45°. Kathy called to say Lyla didn’t get to leave the hospital yesterday. Hopes to today. I washed clothes. I’ve enjoyed playing the tapes I copied from our old Christmas LP’s. I had a call from Sandy Fagan. She and Ed are moving to Newark. Ed is already working there and staying with Gloria and Roger. She leaves December 31st. Jim came out after work and got the cot bed. Also got Vern 10 fence posts at Amish store. He and Nancy were planning to take them to Oswego tonight. Jim has a new red and black Chevy truck with a cap. Very pretty. He got it yesterday.

Windy. Some rain. A few snow flurries. Cold. Amy here to clean. She went to store for me. I gave her Christmas card and $10 for Christmas. I got cute picture Christmas card from Dan and Robin with Lydia and Jordan’s pictures on it. Alice F called to ask about Lyla. I called Jim in evening. Jim has appointment with Dr. Sherman. He wants him to have a CAT scan and see a doctor about his stomach in January but doesn’t feel it is anything to be concerned about.
