1988. Randy and Elaine Horton had baby boy, Timothy Randall, 8 lb. 2 oz. born at 2:00 AM. They have 3 girls. Stephanie, Sammy and I saw the New Year in. Snowing and windy. Lazy day. Tired.

Got school tax notes, $608.55 up $98.77. There is a large colored picture of Randy and Elaine’s baby on back of today’s Times. Merrill and Bill Burns took down manger. Merrill helped at Horton’s in PM. I sent several checks, Reader’s Digest, American Ag., EPIC, and church benevolence for 1987, Cheryl here. Washed.

Cold and windy. Terrible storms Lowville, Pulaski, and Adams way. Routes 11, 3, and 81 closed. Jim has been made acting lieutenant on police force. Kenny Sloan has retired. S. Watson acting chief now.

Donna’s 10:30 for perm, $20.00. -15° in morning. We went for groceries after kids left. Got 10 arrears money orders from June R. Power off 40 minutes in early morning at 5:50. Merrill has a cold.

Cobby had sermon. Joyce helped. We went to Sunday School 44, and church 47. Marge here for papers for her reports. Cloudy and some rain. Rev. Collin and youth at Aldersgate until tomorrow. We went over to Simonds in evening.

Sam walked home. Worked at Merrill’s and my reports. trustee meeting 7:30. Voted to paint, varnish, and build new bathroom in church. Dan starts student teaching at Liverpool. Jim called. All are well. Busy skiing.

50°. Trustees meeting with contractors at church. Lots interested. Only Wayne, Marie, and Merrill there. Washed clothes. Cleaned coffee maker 1st time. Snowtown USA ‘88 in action. Parade today.

Clinic: Merrill 148/72, blood count 15.5. Mine 160/88, count 12. We went to new Con (?) Store for first time. Lisa B manages it. Merrill ordered window washer for car. Rev. Collin’s 29th birthday.

Sammy here all PM. Cha took him to Doctor. Merrill took food to Legion for Betty Fikes funeral. Merrill had George Seko put washer on car, $8.00. Carl Scee is in Mercy Hospital for 3 months.

Jim and Walt brought our 2 chairs. Trustee meeting, 7:30. They are picking ones to do work. Bob Boscheck in charge. Merrill went for gas, groceries, and to bank. Bought school pizza, $3.25 for Recardo, exchange student from Brazil.
