Up to 35° today. Some wind. Bathroom tub drain thawed out this morning. Murphy delivered fuel oil. It is up to 56.9¢ Cost $98. We went to Fays for eye drops and iron pills and needles. Merrill cleaned church. Several water pipes broke at CEC.

Dan’s 12th birthday. We went to Don’s. Marg’s not home. Phoned Ken’s but no one home. Got ceiling paint at K-Marts. $7.97, 5 quarts. Windy, rained in PM. Sun out most of day. Got B-12 shot and groceries in morning.

I have a cold. Merrill went to dump. Stopped at Hall’s. Howard and Evelyn left for Florida this morning. Jim’s here in PM and for supper. Water break at Sackets. Wrote Vern’s. Rainy, foggy all day, 45°. Got letter from G..? …..?owell, saying Uncle Berl is in hospital.

Crystal’s 1st birthday. Wrote Uncle Berl at hospital. Donna Hall’s bridal shower at Legion. I went. Nice shower but not as many there as invited because of slippery roads. 31 present. Stormy all day.

Open house for Pat and Ruth. We went. Good turn out. Stopped at farm. They had pipe fire last Friday. Burned paper around chimney. We went to church. Went to movie at church in evening, “No Need to Hide”.

Pat and Ruth Eggleston’s 50th anniversary. They leave for Florida with Corbetts today. wrote Dot M. Merrill went to Theresa for hair cut. Cloudy and rainy. Lots of water around. Ordered girl scout cookies from Mary Jo Collins.

Dr. Roberts, 2 PM. Got letter from Vern’s. Stopped at Marg and Roy’s. Had lunch at Don’s. Went to Ken’s in PM. He was tapping trees. Roberta and Luke there. Had fish fry at Longway’s on way home. Everything better at doctors. He is letting me give myself the B-12 shots. Called Patty. Jim has the bug.

Started cleaning house. Merrill worked at cellar way closet. Painted it. I washed kitchen walls and ceiling. Got letter from Uncle Berl. He was in hospital 4 days. Got groceries.

We went to city to change paint at K-Mart. Wrong color. Merrill started painting ceiling when we got home. Ordered porch blinds at Wards. Merrill got canvas shoes and cap, birthday present. I got tan top.

Rain, wind and snow. Merrill installed new sump pump at CEC. Wrote Vern’s. We voted on 1.6 million dollar school project. it passed, 304 to 243. I went to Lodge in evening. 10 out. Barbara D called for news.

Bob McNairn’s brought cleaner back. Was the switch, $4. We tore off paper in our bedroom. Merrill painted woodwork. Much colder today. My arms awfully lame all day. Aunt Maude called in evening to say Marg is back in hospital. Hemorrhaging but now stopped.

We went to hospital to see Marg. She’s not too peppy. Got 12 inch RCA TV at Woolworth’s, $89.85 with tax. Got groceries at Philadelphia. Started gift sticker at Big M. Got letter from Angie. Margaret’s husband is in Alaska, also his 15 year old son.

St. Patrick’s Day. A beautiful day, 50°. Merrill went to dump and cleaned church. He fixed Charlie Watt’s roof. Charlie’s got home today from hospital. Got notes from Ruth and Pat Eggleston from Florida. Also Dot M. Washed.

We finished papering bedroom. Did wall at head of stairs that was off. Lois called and invited us to card party Friday night. Got Wedding invitation from Donna Hall and Tom Ellis, April 7. Got letter from June. A beautiful day, 51°.

We went to city for porch blinds at Wards. One of them was damaged. Got the rest up. Went for groceries. Beautiful day, 56°. Made Merrill cake and got stuff ready for his party in evening. Got letter from Uncle Berl. Merrill got birthday cards.

Merrill’s 69th birthday. I had surprise party for him. Mowers, Simonds, Lowry, Halls, Jim and Pat, Kenny. June R stopped by a minute. Nice time and gifts. A most beautiful day, 60’s. Margarite Beach, 80, died at 9 PM. Dentist appointment, 10:30. Had tooth filled, $19.

Another great day. Washed and cleaned up after party. Merrill took car to Gouverneur for new plugs and points, $39.93. Card party at Glenda Webb’s. Lois and Joe had it there, 12 out. I gave myself my B-12 shot for first time. Glenda took my blood pressure, 150/100.

Very windy all day but warm. Merrill went to dump. Took 4-H stuff to Norma’s. Stopped at H Halls. Edna called to say Rebekah’s are having service for Margarite on Sunday evening. I called Mary Hall about it.

We went to church, 117 out. Great sermon. Bill Mattingly family back to our church. Rebekahs had service for Margarite in evening. Good turnout. Merrill went over to church and put in new candles.

Bill Mower’s birthday, 63. Administrative Board with Mr. Zugalo, School Superintendent. Decided to let school use CEC. Margarite Beach funeral. Small attendance. Celebration group sang, also Cheryl Horton. We went to house after funeral . Lula went with us. Vern and June called in evening.

Got most of suitcases packed. Merrill went to Mills. Called Wards but blind not in. Got gas. Washed my hair. Whitmore’s dog killed Morse’s little dog and several rabbits. She will hold papers until we get home.

Bill and Vi’s 43rd anniversary. We came to Oswego to stay with boys. Got here 2 PM. Stopped at Patty’s on way. Also stopped to see Florence and Earl Yerdon at Sandy Creek. Merrill heard frogs hollering in evening. Vern’s called in evening.

Warm, foggy and raining, 60°. Merrill and I took showers in morning. Washed clothes. I’m very sore and lame in arms and shoulders. Merrill run cleaner down stairs. News all day on nuclear leak in Pennsylvania. [Three Mile Island] Vern and June called in evening.

We ate lunch at McDonalds. Went to Wolcott to see Mother Tryon and Leslie. They are both good. Mother didn’t know us. Vern and June got home about 7 PM. We had June’s chili for supper.

Very windy and raining hard all day. We left Oswego about 9 AM. Stopped at Ken’s. They have 10 year old foster girl Tammy Releught [?] living with them. We got home about 2 PM. Everything OK here. Merrill went to PO for mail. Got milk. I called Juanita from Ken’s. Everyone OK. Snowing in evening.

UMW at CEC. Week of Prayer and Self Denial. Theresa ladies present. I made cupcakes for it. Also Vi. Art, Doris and Dougie here in PM. Jim’s picture in tonight’s Times again about the 6th or 7th time lately.

Over 7500 places without power. Ours out over an hour. Many schools closed because of weather. Snowed during night. Very slippery and very windy. Lots of power line trouble. Merrill cleaned church. Howard here in evening. Evelyn at beauty parlor.

Donna Hall and Tom Ellis wedding at Philadelphia Methodist Church. Reception at Legion. We went. All very beutiful. A very large wedding. District meeting at Mills, I didn’t go. Got letter from June. Barb Preston had baby girl, 9 lb. 8 or.

Mike White,Hank S. Ivan, Evelyn, Royal, Neil at Jam session at Evelyn’s. Great music. 30 there. A beautiful day. Called Vern’s. Are coming on Sunday. We went to city for porch blind and took income tax stuff to H & R Block. Called Mary K and Gary M at Calcium. They couldn’t do it. Will cost over $6000.
