Cold. 10° below at 8 AM. Cold all day. We went to city. Dairy Congress at Armory. Ordered dish and washer at Sears. Saw Dorothy and Arlene Barker. Oren has been in hospital two weeks. Very bad.

Doreen’s 10th birthday. Wrote Jim. Home demonstration at Mary Halls. 9 members present. 4 kids. Sharon gave lighting 1. Lamfere brought lumber for cupboards. Merrill made wood screen for each room.

Warm, rainy and foggy. Merrill finished back of washer and dryer. Made pumpkin pies. Merrill took one to Lodge. Installation. Theresa installs them. Supper afterwards. Sent cow to Lowville. Cold.

Oren Barker died at 2:00 pm. Sent tapes to Jim. Mom called. I went to city for groceries. Did dry cleaning for first time at Seaway. Got curtains for back room. $1.50. Had headache. Made bank deposit.

WSCS at Leah Simonds. Mary and I went. Mary and I went to city. She went to Dr. Grace. Marg, kids and I went to Theresa funeral home to Lisa Lamic’s wake, age 3. 17 below at 1:00 pm. Cold all day.

A very stormy day. Schools closed. Terrible wind. Howard Hall sent milk to plant for first. Merrill put doors on cupboards. Home demonstration at Martha’s canceled. Philadelphia Town Hall burned at 4:30.
